MODERN GUI

The JP-88ty uses a modern GUI with the layout of the JP-8080 hardware synthesizer in mind. It is resizeable via the main menu, or the resize arrow in the bottom right corner.

Resizable and fully compatible to low and high 4k+ resolutions. The Size of the GUI is stored globally in the settings.cfg. The perfect size every time you open the JP-88ty Plugin.

UNIQUE OSCILLATORS

All Oscillators from the JP-8080 are available in the JP-88ty. Use the legendary Super Saw Oscillator, TriMod, Noise, a unique Feedback Oscillator, Square, Saw, Triangle mostly with Modulations on OSC 1. On Osc2 you have Square, Saw, Triangle and Noise with LPF.

FILTER – AMP – FX

FILTERS – of the JP-8080 are also available in the JP-88ty. The sound of the Lowpass 12dB and 24dB especially always had a unique sound. Modulate them to design your mega sounds.

AMP– The Amp has the original features and modes of the 8080. Pan and Volume can be modulated bei the LFO 1.

TONE – These Bass and Treble controls sound like the ones in the legendary synth. Very effective to give the sound some punch or excitement.

FX / DELAY – The FX Knob mixes in the selected FX-Type. The effects in the first section are modeled after the famous Chorus, Flanger, Phaser FX in the 8080.
The second effect section has different Delay-Types. The sound of this Delays is also very unique. These Delays sound like the ones of the real JP.

ARPEGGIATOR – REVERB

REVERB – Nice and easy to use classic Plate Reverb with a wide stereo field. The Low- and Highpass Filter help a lot on creating the sound of the reverb itself. There is no Reverb on the hardware synth, but it is always great to have one on board.

ARPEGGIATOR – Simple but effective Arpeggiator with Gate. Synced to the Host BPM or manual speed.

GLOBAL – LFO – LAYERS

GLOBAL – Set the Key-Modes, Glide and Unison of the 88ty here. The „Burger-Button“ opens the hidden menu with more global settings. These are Voices, Sync Modes for the LFO or Delay and variable Midi-CC settings to use with the Mod-Matrix.

LFOs– LFO 1 and Mod (LFO 2) are available like in the 8080. LFO 1 is free running and has Triangle, Saw, Square, Sample & Hold waveforms available. MOD (LFO 2) has a fixed Triangle waveform, available only for direct Modwheel control (Midi-CC #1). This MOD LFO works like the one in the Hardware Synth.

KEY MODE / LAYERS – The JP-88ty also has two seperate Synth-Engines like the 8080. The Key Mode selects Single or Dual Mode. In Dual both Layers (Synth Engines) run in parallel together. They can be modified simultaneously.

COMMON – NOISE

COMMON – There are Oscillator Balance, Octave Shift, the unique X-Mod Control and LFO 1 Modulations for the OSC 1 & 2 or the X-Mod Depth right here.

NOISE– The JP-88ty has an additional Noise Oscillator on each Layer in the Synth. The Resonant Lowpass Filter for this Noise OSC adds flexibility to design this Noise OSC. It has the same sound and Filter like the Noise OSCs in OSC 1 or 2. Make some more airy waves with this one!

ENVELOPES

PITCH – Pitch Envelope with fixed target depending on the setting in OSC COMMON Lfo1 & Env Destination.

FILTER ENV / AMP ENV – These two Envelopes of the JP-88ty are modeled after the real Synth. They have the same behavior. Even the „clicky“ attack sound occurs at Attack 0.

MATRIX

MATRIX – The JP-8080 had a lot of fixed modulation options inside. The Morphing and Velocity assignment options were endless. The JP-88ty has no morphing control, but the most important ones like Velocity, Modwheel, Pitch Bend… and free assignable Midi-CC controls as Sources.

WHEELS & KEYS

Expand the GUI with a Wheels and Keys Controller. Use the mouse to press notes or move the wheel controls to emulate the input from external controllers with this Midi-CC controls.

HOW IT SOUNDS

Listen to real sounds of the JP-88ty directly. No external processing or FX was used.
